Camp Store FAQ
Thank you for supporting Camp Susquehannock through the Camp Store. Every purchase helps support Camp, and we have designed our online store to keep costs and unnecessary inventory as low as possible so that as much of each purchase as possible can benefit Camp.
Why can I order an item that is out of stock?
Some Camp Store products may be ordered even when they are not currently in stock.
Rather than keeping large quantities of every product, size, and color on hand, we may produce or reorder items as they are purchased. This allows us to offer a wider selection while reducing excess inventory and maximizing the benefit of each purchase to Camp Susquehannock.
If an item needs to be made or reordered before it can be shipped, your order may take a little longer to arrive.
How quickly will my order ship?
We will always make our best effort to get your order on its way as quickly as possible.
During the summer, our primary focus is operating Camp, and during the offseason the Camp Store is not staffed like a traditional year-round retail operation. Because of this—and because some products may be made or ordered as purchases are received—shipping times can occasionally be longer than you might expect from a traditional online retailer.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. Your purchase supports Camp, and we want to make sure we get it right.
What about orders placed around the holidays?
We know that Camp gear often makes a great gift.
Around the holidays, we will make every reasonable effort to expedite production and shipping so orders arrive as quickly as possible. Because some merchandise may be made to order or temporarily out of stock, however, we cannot guarantee delivery by a particular date unless specifically stated.
If you're ordering a gift, ordering early is always the safest option.
Are prices the same online and at Camp?
No—and that's intentional.
Everything in the Camp Store is less expensive when purchased in person at Camp.
Our online prices help account for the additional costs associated with maintaining the online store, processing and packing individual orders, and fulfilling merchandise throughout the year.
Whenever possible, we want the best prices to be available directly to the Camp community at Camp.
Can I shop the Camp Store in person?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it.
If you're visiting Camp during the summer, stop by the Camp Store and shop in person. You'll get the best prices, you can see the merchandise firsthand, and you'll save us the cost and work of packing and shipping an online order.
It's the best way to buy Camp gear—and the most efficient way for your purchase to support Camp Susquehannock.
Where does the money from the Camp Store go?
Camp Susquehannock is a nonprofit organization, and purchases from the Camp Store help support Camp and its mission.
Our goal isn't to operate the Camp Store like a traditional retail business. We try to keep inventory and operating costs sensible, offer merchandise that connects campers, families, staff, and alumni to Susquehannock, and make sure the proceeds ultimately benefit Camp.
